Hey guys! Remember me? I know, I know – it’s been a while. We have so much to catch up on! Let’s see. What’s been going on? Quarantine, unemployment…quarantine… quarantine… stress… quarantine…unemployment. Oh and I started a small business. And more quarantine. I also got a job. And then there was more quarantine. Just so we’re all on the same page, it’s the 2020 version of quarantine where we leave the house to go to work, pick up essentials and then lock ourselves away from everyone else until the next time we have to leave for work or some type of curbside pickup. That’s basically been the cycle for 2020. But you were there – you know.
So anyway, that sums up life up to now. Pretty exciting stuff. But it’ll get better. I intend it to be so. I intend a better year.
But now here we are, firmly embedded in 2021 and sageing (is that a word? it is now) away that bad ’20 juju. On a national-slash-global level, January’s peek into the new year hasn’t been too promising on the “better year” front. Let’s face it – this year started off with a real 2020 vibe. It’s been bad and weird and then weirdly bad. Things will definitely start looking up in March. I still have hope. My vision board doesn’t leave space for the negativity last year brought into the universe, therefore, 2021 needs to let us see some good stuff. Feeling me?
Did any of y’all make new year resolutions for this year? Honestly, I have never really made resolutions. They’re just too easy to break and too easy to become disheartened and give up. I prefer to call them intentions. There isn’t a resolution to work out 5 times a week, but i intend to. If I make it 4 days rather than 5, that’s okay. I didn’t break a resolution. My personal goals weren’t hopelessly ruined. I intend to make it up next week. I’m not resolving to take more time to read and play around with photography. I intend to. I intend to spend x amount of hours doing things I love that have fallen by the wayside. If I lose out on a day/week/or month, I didn’t wreck my year. I intend to keep it up, but if I don’t, it’s okay: my intention remains the same.
My intentions are simple and definitely geared for the self improvement. I mean sure, I had a whole year to work on me, but let’s not look back, k? K. My small business venture will flourish this year. Mud On My Tiara will have banner viewership and Etc. will be both a regular and popular thing. I will read more, workout more and just be more present. I intend to see all these things to fruition.
Do you have big plans for this year? Is 2021 the year your visions become reality? Will this be the year you turn dreams into goals? What are your intentions? Whatever you do, make sure you intend a better year.
